somehow the ardrone is lucky to survive. But it would be better to put a voltage divider on the TX of the arduino.

kind regards microuav

Finally I had a chance to check this out, AND YOU ARE RIGHT, the Arduino is trying to pull the TX output to 5V and the drone clamps it to 3.3V. Therefore, we'll have to add a resistor on that line, I tried a series resistor and a voltage divider on the bench, both work, however the series resistor is easier to implement (just put it in the cable). I tested a 1K and a 10K series resistor on the bench, both worked, but I want to wait until I had a chance to test this setup in flight.... (think 1K is large enough, it reduces current on my setup from 65mA to 40mA and about 30mA is used by the RX).

Resistor yg direkomendasikan antara 1K~10K ini update baru 20-July 2011 (masih seger dan anget)

Yes this is the official wiring for the mod.
As to the value of the resistor, a 4K7 works very well in my setup. UFO-Doctor measured 20mA on that line without the resistor. With a 4K7 the current is (5V-(3.3V+0.7V))/4K7 = 0.21mA.

Smoga bisa ngebantu, Terimakasih Om phyque dan Om Joko. :thx :thx
Tapi Kok hanya di Port no 4 di arDronenya? :tlt Bagaimana port no 6? :hmm

(Forum/Sparkfun)
1. (GRN/BLK)
2. (TXO/GND)
3. (RXI/VCC)
4. (VCC/RXI)
5. (GND/TXO)
6. (BLK/GRN)

Apa hanya tinggal balik aja yah ??????
praktisnya begitu....
Mohon inputan dari para Suhu MC seantero Grage.( :thx :thx .. are not alone......Banyak suhu hebat disini)

Apakah ini bisa membantu untuk perkabelan dari FTDI ke Arduino?
